Since 2004, it has been possible for same sex couples to enter into civil partnerships and from 2014 to marry. That brings with it the possibility of dissolution of civil partnership or divorce if those relationships break down.  Separations also raise issues about property and children, so whatever difficulties you are navigating, it is important to obtain advice.
